Caden Burns didn’t want to attend a school where skiing was the main draw and not academics. He had the opportunity to remain in a Vermont boarding school, but he chose to return to Minnesota and attend St. Paul Academy. The senior worked his way through eight of SPA’s science electives, including “orgo.”
He approaches skiing with the same diligence he as in the classroom.
Burns' sharp eye for inspecting the course’s terrain and planning his run helps make up for his shorter height and less flexible schedule.
His success is one reason he was named the Star Tribune All-Minnesota Boys Alpine Skier of the Year.
